5/5 stars, best message ever. No sarcasm.

Yeah. I really like this. GMing can be scary, especially with people who are pretty much out to just break the game rather than play with the story. Really good use of this bit from the series. (Also, yay for me being right that Wallace gets to be OP because he's mature enough to play out his limits and use it to help, rather than hinder.)

Optimization gets a lot of undeserved flak. It's all because of the Stormwind Fallacy, where people believe that an optimizer is automatically bad at roleplaying. And the opposite that a poorly optimized or even anti-optimized character is better roleplayed.

Infact, my experience is more the opposite, the better one understands the game and the rules, the better one can act within the system. The rules of the game are the games language, and knowing them allows you more freedom of choice and action. Thus better optimizers will often be better roleplayers.

Also, keep in mind, most players aren't out to disrupt or break the game. They want to create a compelling character who is capable of contributing to the story, and be able to make choices of their own.

^.^ In most games, I just try to be useful. Its why I mostly play support roles.
