Isn't it great how removing a curse takes little to no effort at all?

Yeah...

In this case, the problems was that an odd numbered seal the on top of an even numbered seal meant imbalance and Chakra leakage. If my memories are right. They never explained if Jiraiya added to or removed Orochimaru's work, but so long as things evened out I think that's all that mattered. And it's not like Orochimaru put that much effort into his part of the equation.

If I remember correctly, Jiraiya did a "5 pronged seal release" or something like that

Which strongly implies that he removed Orochimaru's added seal

If I recall, Jiraiya says "Five-pronged seal release"

When they show the seal on Naruto's belly later, it lacks the additional symbols from Orochimaru's seal. Therefore, it stands to reason that Jaraiya removed it.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. I should have known I'd forgotten something.

I HATE that certain curses are so easy to remove, especially in DnD.

I'm in a fantasy world where myth is reality, a player burns down a forest and is cursed by the fey to forever feel the pain of the fire until they atone by...Wait, no, Cleric is 5th level, they just cast Remove Curse and that's that.

Sucks all of the narrative impact out of a very powerful and useful device. I've warned my players as they get to that point that I homebrew. If you want to remove a powerful curse, Remove Curse will give you a chance, but it isn't a guarantee and somethings it won't even touch.
