Story time! Anyone ever roll a bluff to trick an enemy into thinking a spell or something would do something other than what it actually does?

Pretty sure there's a skill trick or something for exactly that in 3.5... hm. I've used minor cantrips plus intimidation to make people think I'm a more powerful dangerous wizzard than I really am once or twice, if that counts lol.

Rolled up an arcane trickster rogue once and in the middle of combat I was getting my ass handed to me, so I used the minor illusion cantrip I'd picked up to wrap myself up in the illusion that a 5 foot boulder had fallen from the sky and crushed me.

Spent the rest of the encounter picking off goblins from concealment.

....unfortunately I rolled a little too well on the bluff and half the party also thought I'd been smashed, so when I dispelled it the Cleric immediately believed I had been raised by a necromancer and I nearly got killed in a surprise round of combat.
