I do like how they remark on this in-universe as a darkhorse becoming a fan-favorite, exactly as this ended up happening in reality. Either Kishimoto was banking on that, the pro-Shikamaru crowd was already in motion, or the man just has a decent understanding of what his fans like.

I wish I had that last thing...

Sometimes you just have to take the L. Also don't worry, we still love you and your work on this series.

Love you and the serie... but the "woke" part about Ino being trans was unecessary and weird. It would have being more awesome for exemple that Temari was one. Someone with less curves at least. Ino was made to be more feminine looking then Sakura.

I could even see Shikamaru dont care about that. He wouldn't mind dating a trans.

I think a lot of people trying to get "woke" and please the LGTBQ community but aren't doing it in a interesting way and only doing it to please them, rather then doing something tasteful or interesting with it. Sakura Cardcaptor had two main character beingattracted to each other and it was cute. Sailor Moon at two sailor being lesbian and it was cute and believable.

I say that if you use it well, it can make a good story better. But so many people arent able to make it look good. Its like any tropes: used badly, it works against your story.

Yes, because in a world of magic ninjas, a trans person having curves is so utterly weird and out there. Jeez. I agree with your comment about how some people do it just to do it and it comes out badly, but I don't recall having any problems with the handling of it in this. Admittedly, it's been a while since I read it, but I didn't mind it? I dunno, to each their own I suppose. I just saw it as an interesting contrast to sakura, with the highly, deliberately, feminine trans ino compared against sakura.
