A story time segment here... neat, and one I happen to have stories for, awesome.

Now lets see, should I go with how me and a monk stopped a boss fight from happening with a single arrow... or The time where the Paladin fell down a 100-ft pit trap... decisions, decisions.

Also, great comic today, I could almost hear the sound of realization in the GM's voice... and imagine the look of it on his face.

I once lent my holy avenger sword to a fellow player. Turns out a holy avenger forged from the desecrated bones of martyrs is not good for paladins.

For reference, I was the paladin. I had been wondering why my attacks and smites were so unbelievably weak.

Turns out a holy weapon that deals negative(evil) is actually less effective for a paladin than plain punching. A ruling by my DM.

After thinking for a while, Arrow story it is.

It was a while ago, in a rather meh campaign I was playing in. We were doing side-missions to get money and experience since according to house rules the monsters we had to kill did not give any exp. We had a few missions to chose from and one of them was a job posted by the local guard to take out a big name assassin in the city... and given that the city was the largest on this side of the hemisphere wouldn't be an easy job if we used conventional methods.

So, 3 of us(Me, our Monk and our Swashbuckler) hatched a plan, we'd set up a meeting with the assassin like we were looking for work and then we would ambush him... so a trip to a very shady tavern and a line of very good bluff checks later we have a meeting spot for the deal and a time.

The party decided to stake out the place and wait for the assassin, the person pretending to hire him would be the bait, the monk was on the roof of a nearby building, the swashbuckler was pretending to be passed out drunk and I was hiding in a set of crates... which I took from my cart(this character was meant to be a salesman, didn't work out due to us leaving the campaign for various reasons)... Anyway, prior to assassin's arrival, I had given the monk am arrow coated in about 8 doses of Drow poison, my character made it and wanted to make sure it would work because they were planing on using it against the monster we were hunting at the time and he didn't want to find out that the poison was a dud or something like that.

So anywho, time passes and the assassin shows up, the guy's invisible abut he has to stand in a specific spot to grab the bag of gold, and once he does the monk takes his shot, hits the assassin, and said hired killer fails the con check for the multiple doses of poison.

So, we had a knocked out a mini-boss in a surprise round and then we preceded to cut off his head and turn it in for the bounty, and that was the story of how Markel Valkenholme traveling salesman and Talon the Aasimar monk took down one of the most dangerous hired killers in the city of sin.

Let's be honest here. Naruto bought a windmill shuriken because he thought he'd be able to charge his kunai-pod with it.
